1 Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information Life for Orphan collects, why it is needed, and how it is protected. The system is used by the Master Super Admin, Head Office Admins, School Admins, Donors and Volunteers, and each role only sees the information it needs for its own work.
2 What we collect
- Account information: name, phone number or email, role, and a password. Passwords are never stored in readable form, they are securely hashed.
- School information: school name, location, contact details and authorised staff.
- Orphan and guardian information: only what a school needs to manage enrolment, attendance, results and sponsorship, such as name, class, guardian relationship and support status.
- Donation and sponsorship records: donor, amount, date, receipt number and verification status.
- System records: login activity, attendance, expenses, campaigns and audit logs, so every important change can be traced.
Donors are never given an orphan's CNIC, home address or sensitive personal documents. Sensitive details are masked in the system and are only visible to authorised school and head office staff who need them to care for the child.
3 How we use information
Information is used only to run the service: to manage schools and orphans, record attendance and results, match sponsorships, verify donations, prepare reports and receipts, and keep the system secure. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use children's data for advertising.
4 How we protect information
- Passwords are hashed and logins are protected with secure tokens.
- Access is role-based: a School Admin sees only their own schools, a Donor sees only their own donations and sponsorships.
- Important actions are recorded in audit logs.
- Uploaded documents are limited to approved file types and sizes.
- Access to the live system and database is limited to authorised administrators.
5 Cookies and device storage
The system uses a secure login token stored on your device, and, where you use offline attendance, a small local queue that syncs when you are back online. No advertising trackers are used. Clearing site data will sign you out and remove the local queue, so please sync before clearing.
6 Sharing
Personal information is not shared publicly and is not sold. It is only shown inside the system to users with the right role, for example a school's authorised staff and head office. Payment processing, when enabled, is handled through the payment provider's own secure system.
7 Your rights
You can ask for a correction to your own information, or ask about how your information is used, by contacting support below. The Master Super Admin can update user accounts and roles. A request affecting a child's record should come through the child's school or head office, so the child's safety is never put at risk.
8 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date. Continued use of the system after a change means you accept the updated policy.
